TRACK RESULTS: Big Canadian Showings in California

The Mount Sac Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational took place Friday evening in sunny California. A large contingent of Canadians headed south of the border to compete against some of North America’s best. Here are some of the top results:

Rory Linkletter: The Calgary native and BYU student ran an impressive 13:37.98 in the 5,000m Friday night at the Mount Sac Relays. The blue jean mile world record holder finished 3rd among an elite group of men, including former Canadian 10,000m record holder Cam Levins.

Justyn Knight: Raced the 1,500m Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Knight ran an extremely impressive 3:36.07 to come 2nd. Knight is also in the running for the prestigious Bowerman award. The award is given to the top male and female collegiate performers in NCAA track and field. Coming off a very strong indoor season, with his first NCAA title in to 5,000m, Justyn is looking forward to NCAA outdoor success.

Lindsey Butterworth: The Simon Fraser University Alumni and New Balance runner is coming off a strong outdoor season. She competed this past summer at the World University Games as well as the World Championships. Lindsey ran an impressive 4:10.95 at the Bryan Clay invite in the 1,500m.
