Western Cross-Country Invitational 2018: cooler temps bring record-setting times

University students from around the province posted some fast times as temperatures fell in western Ontario yesterday

The 44th annual Bill Salter Western Invitational Cross Country races, hosted by Western University, took place at the Thames Valley Golf Course in London, Ont. yesterday, under overcast skies and slightly cooler temperatures (12 C) than we’ve seen for the past few weeks across the province.

It was the first major southern Ontario cross-country race of the academic calendar, and featured university runners as well as some unattached (non-university) athletes and even a few U.S. college teams.
