3 YouTubers to follow for incredible at-home workouts
Whether you're into yoga, weights or Pilates, you've got free training at your fingertips

It can sometimes feel impossible to work in enough strength sessions amid your hefty mileage. But expecting to sustain a high volume of running without injury is unrealistic–and if you’ve managed to do so thus far, consider yourself lucky. While you may not have time to make a trip to the gym, a wide range of free workout sessions and fitness tips are available right at your fingertips on YouTube–so you can efficiently do workouts from comfort of your home.
Yoga With Adriene
Even if you’re new to yoga, Adriene Mishler has you covered. The YouTuber has more than 13 million subscribers tuning in for her regular yoga practice videos focusing on balance, muscle release, strength and overall wellbeing. Mishler also includes guided meditations in her yoga regime.
Mishler’s slow, soothing videos typically span from 15 to 30 minutes. Her calming demeanour makes these sessions the perfect way to get started in the morning, decompress after a tough day, promote recovery after a workout or unwind before bed.
Sydney Cummings Houdyshell
The best part about workouts with Sydney Cummings Houdyshell is her focus on functional movements and overall strength–a refreshing perspective in a world with a heavy emphasis on being lean. The YouTuber is a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist, and posts a new strength and conditioning workout each morning at 5 a.m. Sessions range in length from 20 to 60 minutes and include leg, upper body, cardio, no-equipment and core workouts.
The former high jumper for West Virginia University has more than 1.6 million subscribers on her channel. For runners looking to improve their overall strength but who aren’t sure where to start, Houdyshell’s upbeat energy, bright colours and words of encouragement make it easy and fun.
Move With Nicole
As Pilates grows in popularity, the price of a session is growing even faster. Nicole McPherson‘s YouTube page, which has amassed a following of four million people, offers guided 20- to 50-minute Pilates workouts, free of charge. The mind-body exercise is much harder than McPherson makes it look; the movement focuses on muscle tone and core strength to build stability and endurance.
McPherson is a former dance instructor who created her channel during the COVID lockdown. While her Pilates workouts can be tough, they are also slow and calming–the perfect way to add strength to your routine after a tiring run.
