According to Strava, most people let fitness goals slide today

According to Strava, today is the big day when its users slack.

January 12 seems to be a rather gloomy day for fitness buffs with a New Year’s goal.

According to Strava (an endurance athlete’s favourite social media and activity tracking service), today is the day that most let their big January goal slip. If there’s a day when many cave and allow themselves a day off, it’s today.

Upon speculation, there could be many reasons for this: it’s the end of the work week, winter weather is at its coldest and after being on near-perfect behaviour for the past nearly two weeks, many opt to allow themselves a break. Plus, that spring race might still seem far off in the future and therefore maybe isn’t causing panic just yet.

This info from Strava comes after analyzing 31.5 million January exercise activities from its users. Upon looking at the numbers closely, it became obvious that today is the big day for slacking. This is the first time the service has been able to pinpoint the exact date.

This leads us to the big question: did you work out today? If not, there’s still time.
