On this week’s episode, Canadian Running editor Michael Doyle, web editor Sinead Mulhern and staff writer Tim Huebsch chat with Kevin Nault, fresh off doing a decathlon while wearing 100 T-shirts. Yes, a decathlon with 50 lbs on his back in the form of many, many layers of clothing.

During the segment, Nault reveals everything related to the unique challenge including why he did it in the first place, where he got 100 T-shirts, including one of the band Alexisonfire, the hardest (and easiest) event to do as well as how he got the T-shirts off post-decathlon. (A decathlon is regularly 10 track and field events over the span of two days but Nault did a condensed version.)

Oh, and he also did all 10 events (minus pole vault because of equipment limitations) within one hour. Each of the 10 events is scored on a points system, with the final score being a cumulative tally. His decathlon PB is 5,787 points, which he scored at the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships.

The 23-year-old regularly posts video blogs – vlogs – to his YouTube channel (One Track Mind) chronicling his life as an up-and-coming decathlete. He’s based in Ottawa.
