Ezekiel Kemboi wanted to cap his career, which includes two Olympic gold medals and four world titles, with a bronze. Instead, he got DQed on a ridiculous technicality.

The men’s 3,000m steeplechase was one of the most entertaining events on the track. It saw the two-time Olympic champion defeated, a new Olympic record and the first U.S. medal in the event for 62 years. Canada’s Matt Hughes also competed and ran strong for an 11th place finish.
