Men’s 3,000m steeplechase finals sees new Olympic record, former champion defeated and first U.S. medal in 62 years

The men’s 3,000m steeplechase was one of the most entertaining events on the track. It saw the two-time Olympic champion defeated, a new Olympic record and the first U.S. medal in the event for 62 years. Canada’s Matt Hughes also competed and ran strong for an 11th place finish.
