According to an Abacus Data survey, Terry Fox tops the list of people who make Canadians proud of their country.
Canadian Running was at the Burlington, Ont. Terry Fox Run on Sunday and we spoke to locals on what the iconic Canadian means to them.
Tens of thousands of Canadians took part in the annual Terry Fox Run across the country today in honour of the national icon (photo: Tyler Black).
The first-ever Terry Fox Run was held on Sept. 13, 1981. The run has since raised $700 million for cancer research.
The White House Runners, a group of four CEGEP students, completed their run from Montreal to Washington, D.C. in honour of Terry Fox.
Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, which began in 1980, was voted as the top moment in British Columbia sporting history on June 10.
