One of the world’s top beer milers was honoured with his own limited edition beer label.

Lewis Kent, the former world record in the four-beer, four-lap event, posted a photo of a “Lewis Kent Lager” to Instagram on Thursday. The London, Ont. native held the world record until fellow Canadian and the now-world record holder Corey Bellemore twice improved the time to 4:34.35. Kent made headlines in 2015 for signing a deal with Brooks, his appearance on Ellen and signing a multi-year deal with the National Beer Mile circuit.

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company, based in Vankleek Hill, Ont. between Ottawa and Montreal, printed custom labels on a small batch for Kent. The labels, which read “good luck on your next beer mile,” were created for Kent’s personal batch and was a re-brand of the Lug Tread lagered ale.

The custom label was done exclusively as a one-time print. Kent’s agent, Kris Mychasiw, says that it’s not available for distribution or commercialization.

Lug Tread lagered ale is 5.2 per cent alcohol and the limited edition label, which can be seen at the top of this page, is seen on a 600 mL glass bottle. The regulation size for beer during the beer mile is 355 mL and five per cent alcohol.

While visiting, Kent went on a private tour of the brewery, considered one of the most popular in eastern Ontario. The brewery is well-known for other collaborations with Canadians including Tom Green, named “The Tom Green Beer!,” and Margaret Atwood, called “MaddAddamites NooBroo.”

Though he received a one-year supply of Amsterdam beer for his appearance on Ellen, Kent is not sponsored by the Toronto-based brewery. Meanwhile, the current world record holder in the beer mile runs with Kingfisher, an Indian beer brewed in the United States. Kent is ranked third all-time in the beer mile, according to Beermile.com.
