While 15,000 eager runners took to the pavement at Sunday’s 2025 Toronto Marathon, the unsung heroes of race day were on the sidelines—thousands of friends, family and running crews who braved the chilly temperatures to cheer them on. Race spectators don’t always get the credit they deserve, standing for hours to offer support through every high, low, cramp and stride, often armed with motivational signs that deliver the perfect boost or laugh when needed most.
