Relive some of the best moments of 2016 with nine photos and videos from the past 12 months.

With the passing of the Olympic Games, it’s no surprise that many of the most-liked photos on Canadian Running‘s Instagram account are from Rio in August. Ed Whitlock, who ran 3:56 at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, makes three appearances on CR‘s list. Andre De Grasse and Usain Bolt took the top spot for most-liked photo in 2016 with more than 3,000 showing their appreciation for the sprint stars.

One video, Lanni Marchant finishing seventh in a Canadian course record of 2:33:50 at the New York City Marathon, made the list of nine posts. Rankings were gathered via the website, 2016bestnine.com.
