OFSAA 300m hurdles record-holder Liam Foudy was drafted to the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team last week.
Foudy’s strength on the ice could be a result of his former track career. Foudy is the current OFSAA record holder in the 300m hurdles for both midget and junior boys. He ran 39.99 as a grade nine student in 2015, and 37.86 in grade ten to set the records.

Hockey Buzz reports that Foudy was a draft dark horse, making huge improvements over the course of the 2017-18 season. Many believe that Foudy is the fastest, smoothest skating forward in this year’s draft.

Foudy, who is only 18 years old, graduated from Neil McNeil high school in Toronto this year. Foudy was a 2016 OHL first-round draft pick.
Foudy reportedly excelled in off-ice and on-ice physical tests at the CHL top prospects showcase. He posted on Instagram two days ago saying that being drafted to the Blue Jackets is “a dream come true.”
