Enjoy Wordle? Try Trackle–the new running version

Test your knowledge of track and field with this niche version of Wordle

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past six months, you’re aware of Wordle, the game that challenges users to guess the daily five-letter word in six or fewer attempts. A group of runners out of the U.K. has launched an unofficial modified version called ‘Trackle‘ based on guessing current male and female track and field athletes with a five-letter surname.

The rules are similar to Wordle, as users receive six attempts each day. After each attempt, the colours of the tiles will change to green, yellow or grey to show if you are close to guessing the surname. If the letter is in the name, it will turn green or yellow. If the letter is not in the word, it will remain grey.

So far, I have found the game quite challenging, and think the accolades or a silhouette of the athlete should be included to make the game easier.

If you are looking for ideas to start your Trackle, you can always try one of the popular Kenyan surnames, Koech, Kirui or Korir. I’ll often start with a common Western surname that contains common vowels and consonants, i.e., Smith, Brown or Jones.
