Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared his best running photos of 2016 as his goal for the year was to hit 365 miles (587 kilometres).

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s ‘A Year of Running’ challenge officially came to an end on Dec. 31. The 32-year-old aimed to hit 365 miles (587 kilometres) for 2016, which he accomplished on July 14.
After hitting his goal in July, Zuckerberg said at the time that he would be training more for triathlon. He also shared that his fastest mile (1,609m) in 2016 was a 5:58, which translate roughly to 3:42 per kilometre pace. At one point, he admitted that his running has allowed him to “go out and run 20 miles [32K] on a Sunday morning and feel pretty good.”
On Dec. 27, Facebook’s founder shared his best photos from the past 12 months. He managed to squeeze in runs while he was in Berlin, Barcelona, Rome, Lagos, Nigeria as well as at home in Palo Alto, Calif. among a number of other locations around the world. On occasion, he also put in some kilometres running with his Hungarian sheepdog, Beast.

The group has grown to more than 127,000 members as of the end of 2016.

“My favorite part of this year’s 365-mile running challenge is the group ‘A Year of Running,’ he says. “More than 130,000 people joined me around the world. I’ve loved reading your stories about how running has changed your lives — and even your communities.”
Zuckerberg, who was recently ranked 10th on Forbes‘ list of the world’s most powerful people, has not yet announced whether he will be renewing his running challenge again in 2017.
