Russian hacker group Fancy Bears released a pair of Nike Oregon Project runners’ detailed supplement and medication information to French outlet L’Equipe. The information, which has been translated by LetsRun.com, relates to Galen Rupp and Shannon Rowbury and their “vitamins and medications” consumed ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The leak comes shortly after the Sunday Times ran a story entitled “Coach Alberto Salazar accused of endangering Mo Farah with drugs.” Salazar, Farah, Rupp and Rowbury are all part of the Nike Oregon Project, an elite training group based in Beaverton, Ore.

All the supplements, vitamins or medications listed are allowed under the World Anti-Doping Agency rules. A LetsRun.com translation of Dr. Jean-Michel Serra, the French Athletics Federation’s doctor, quotes him as saying “It’s [a] quite astounding list. One wonders if they are not sick! Taking drugs when you are not sick is clearly entering into the foundations of doping.”

Rupp’s list comes over the span of four days in April 2016. Rowbury’s declarations were spread across eight days in May 2016. Note that some of the listed items are common substances, including Tiger Balm and specific basic vitamins. One notable inclusion is ZMA (Zinc Monomethionine Aspartate), a supplement developed by Victor Conte, known for his role as the founder of BALCO and who pleaded guilty to distributing steroids in the mid-2000s. ZMA is said to improve recovery as a sleep aid. Its creators claim the supplement helps REM sleep, which in turn allegedly boosts hormone profiles, including testosterone. ZMA does not contain any banned substances.

Below notable medications or vitamins is a brief explanation as to the substance’s role, as listed on LetsRun.com.
