Justin Trudeau joins Irish PM for an evening run overseas
Canada's prime minister puts in the kilometres before dinner at the Dublin Castle in Ireland
Justin Trudeau fit in a run with Irish Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, between meetings and before dinner. Prime Minister Trudeau ran with Varadkar through Phoenix Park, an urban park in Dublin, on Tuesday late afternoon.
Trudeau, who has been spotted on numerous occasions running in various locations across Canada and around the world, was wearing a Canada shirt for the run. It appears he’s wearing Asics GT-1000 5 as his footwear of choice. Trudeau even gave Varadkar a shout-out for keeping the run honest saying “nice pace” on Twitter.

“The sun came out just in time for a quick chance to see more of this beautiful part of Dublin on foot… nice pace Leo Varadkar,” Trudeau wrote on Twitter. Meanwhile, Varadkar tweeted out the following: “After today’s Dail business joined Justin Trudeau for quick jog through Phoenix Park. Now off to Dublin Castle for evening business.”
Varadkar describes himself, in part, as a “fitness fan” on his Twitter profile. (In case you’re wondering, the Taoiseach is the head of government in Ireland.)

Phoenix Park, where Trudeau and Varadkar ran, is a hit among runners. The urban park in Dublin annually hosts the Great Ireland Run, a 10K race that attracts upwards of 10,000 participants.
