One of entertainment’s biggest comedians made an appearance at the Hood to Coast Relay in Portland, Ore. this week. Kevin Hart, known for his stand-up comedy and roles in the Scary Movie series, The Secret Life of Pets, Central Intelligence and Ride Along, ran three legs of the overnight, long-distance relay on the west coast.

The race is one of the world’s largest running relays and begins at Mount Hood, the highest point in Oregon, and heads west to the beach town of Seaside, Ore. Hart has taken up running over the last few years and regularly hosts public 5K runs in the city he visits on his comedy tour.

The relay, which began on Aug. 26, is 315K across Oregon and is split into 12-person teams. Much of the run is on asphalt. Runners not on course follow in one of a maximum of two vans per team. Vehicles are traditionally decorated and awards are given out based on creativity and theme.

On his final leg of the relay, Hart ran 8.25K miles in 42:43 at an average pace of 5:10 per kilometre. On an earlier leg, Hart ran 10.5K. The 37-year-old comedian was one of 12,600 runners who participated in this year’s Hood to Coast Relay.

“I’m dead tired, I can’t feel my legs,” Hart said in a Facebook live video on Saturday. The Philadelphia native added that he and his team trained specifically for the event but didn’t understand how “serious” it really was until race day.

Just like many other runners, Hart had some pre-race concerns that he needed to address on Twitter and to his 30 million followers including whether he should stretch or opt to go for one last bathroom break before beginning the run.

As the the Hood to Coast Relay is on the west coast, the race is popular among Canadians as Portland is a five-hour drive from Vancouver. One Canadian group named their team “I can’t feel my legs.”
