London Marathon 2019 celebrity results
Celebrities flock to big-city marathons, and London 2019 was no exception
Big-city marathons always have their share of celebrities running, and today’s Virgin Money London Marathon was no different. The top performer was British cyclist Chris Newton, who finished in 2:45:24, according to a tweet by LetsRun.com’s Jonathan Gault. Also squeaking under sub-3 was Chris Finill, who has run every edition of the London Marathon since it began in 1981.

Finill managed to finish last year’s race in under four hours despite getting tangled up with another runner, falling and breaking his arm in four places (so it was discovered later) just after the 5K mark.
British actor Leon Ockenden of the long-running British television show Coronation Street finished in 3:22. British model Nell McAndrew, who is 45 and who has a PB of 2:54, finished in 3:15.
Scottish politician and Remain campaigner John Lamont, who is also a triathlete, finished in 3:42:43. Retired French tennis player Amélie Mauresmo finished in 3:22:46. Comedian Ed Gamble finished in 3:54:20.
The last 4 miles were tough (agony) but I’ve done it!
