Canadian 800m record-holder Melissa Bishop-Nriagu has announced on her social media the birth of her second baby, Olivia Obi Nriagu. The baby was born on July 25 and is Bishop-Nriagu and her husband Osi’s second child (their daughter Corinne was born in 2018).

“Our hearts have exploded again,” Bishop-Nriagu wrote on her Instagram. “Daddy has a house full of girls. Born July 25, Olivia is full of love and snuggles. We are all happy, healthy, and very excited.”

Bishop-Nriagu and Osi got married in 2017 and welcomed Corinne the following year. After taking time to return to running, the Eganville, Ont., native returned to the track for the 2019 summer season. Injury cut her season short, but she came back to win her first 800m race of 2020 and qualified for the 2020 Olympics.

After the Olympics, Bishop-Nriagu took a break, and in February, she and her husband announced they were expecting their second child. Their firstborn turned four on July 2 and will start school in the fall.
