Mo Farah will return to racing at the Vitality London 10,000
The four-time Olympic champion is making a comeback

The four-time Olympic champion, Mo Farah, has announced that he will be returning to racing after fracturing his foot in the spring of 2021. Farah will be running at the Vitality London 10,000, which is scheduled to take place on May 2.

Farah has won the Vitality London 10,000 seven times in his career, setting the British 10K record of 27 minutes and 44 seconds in 2010. The race returns to its iconic central London course in 2022 for the first time since 2019.
Last year, Farah hoped to qualify for the 10,000m at the Tokyo Olympics, but he suffered a foot injury in late May 2021, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season. After his injury, there was speculation he might retire.
Farah, who is one of the most decorated athletes in British track and field history, won eight world championship medals between 2011 and 2017 and four Olympic gold medals in the 5,000m and 10,000m.
The 38-year-old said in a press release that he is fully recovered from his injury and currently preparing for the 2022 season. Farah has been using the popular virtual training app Zwift to do most of his workouts and has been uploading them to his Instagram feed.

“I have great memories of this race,” Farah said to the media. “I have won it seven times, and racing in my hometown of London is something I can never get bored of.”
Although his racing calendar has not been confirmed, Farah will most likely have his eyes on qualifying for Team GB at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Ore., the or Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted one week after worlds in Birmingham, U.K.
