New Balance’s new “Run Your Way” campaign empowers runners

Everyone has their own running style and their own reasons to run

Every runner has their own reasons why they lace up their shoes and head out the door for a run. It can be a chance to connect with friends, it can be all about chasing fast times, it’s a way to raise money for worthy charities or it can just be a chance to clear your mind. There is no right or wrong reason for why you run–you just Run Your Way.

Boston-based athletic footwear and apparel company New Balance has launched a new campaign aimed at inspiring runners to embrace their individuality and self-expression on the roads and trails. The “Run Your Way” campaign is a celebration of runners of all abilities, styles and motivations, and encourages them to run in a way that is authentic to them. Whether you run once a year or every day, if you lace up your shoes and head out the door for a run, you are a runner, and you are an important part of the overall global running community.

One of the benefits of the “Run Your Way” campaign slogan is that it encourages people to embrace their unique reasons for running. It’s easy to get caught up in comparisons and feel like we need to run a certain way or hit certain goals to be considered a “real runner.” However, New Balance’s new slogan reminds us that everyone’s journey is different, and there’s no one right way to run.

At New Balance, there is a belief that running is a deeply personal experience and that every runner is unique. The “Run Your Way” campaign is about celebrating that individuality and encouraging runners to express themselves through their sport. The hope is that sharing the stories of real runners can inspire others to run in a way that is true to themselves. In addition to videos and product launches, New Balance is also hosting a virtual event designed to engage with runners around the world. This is not a race or a distance challenge, it’s just an invitation to get out there and Run Your Way. With a larger community goal vs. the traditional solo effort, the objective is for the community to complete 3,000,000 hours of running activity.  You can sign up via Strava: New Balance–Run Your Way Event.

In a world where social media can be a breeding ground for comparison and feelings of inadequacy, the “Run Your Way” campaign slogan offers a refreshing message. It reminds us that running is about more than just hitting a certain pace or distance–it’s about finding joy in your running journey. Canadian Running looks forward to sharing stories across the country this year about why you all “Run Your Way.”
