Nike and Lyft team up to help Americans get to the polls

U.S. voters can get $10 off their ride to the polls with a Nike code

Today is election day in the U.S. In order the help as many people as possible exercise their right to vote and to get to their local polling station, Nike and Lyft have teamed up to give people $10 off their ride to vote with the code NIKE2020. According to CNN, in pre-election voting alone, ballots cast have reached almost two-thirds of all ballots in the 2016 election. Nearly 92 million Americans have already voted, and Nike wants to help keep this momentum going into election night.

The company has set up a Voter Toolkit where people can find a polling station, request an absentee ballot, and look up a ballot. People can also download Instagram-shareable graphics to encourage their followers to vote as well.

Nike isn’t alone in the push to encourage voter turnout. Elite runners like Kara Goucher, Aisha Praught-Leer and many others are encouraging their followers to vote.

As Goucher writes, “I’m not going to tell you how to vote. But I am here telling you to exercise your right to vote!! Your country, and its future, depend on it. Your vote matters!!”
