OFSAA swag a big hit this year

The OFSAA cross country hoodie is always much in demand, and the kids loved this year's version

With over 1,500 students competing, OFSAA is one of the largest cross-country meets in North America. For Ontario high schoolers, making OFSAA is a rite of passage, and dropping $65 on that first Nike-branded OFSAA hoodie makes it real just as much as running the actual race. Every year most of the participants happily line up for an hour or more to get into the Nike tent to get the swag.

The hoodie was a big topic of conversation in the porta potty lineup. Some kids gave last year’s design (green, with a full zip) the thumbs down. But did that stop them from buying it? Not a chance. (Jump ahead to the 52-second mark):

And the Midget Girls winner, Aysia Maurice, made sure to wear it for her post-race interview:

This year the hoodie design was a hit, going back to 2016’s navy background (for girls) and introducing a striking black for guys. The kids loved it.

The hoodie this year featured the round “Cross Country Championships 2018” crest and “Hamilton, Ontario” in white, with the stylized “OFSAA” logo at the bottom, the Nike swoosh at the top left, and the central motif, in gold: an X formed by the Nike swoosh and a spike pin.

The kids will wear their OFSAA hoodies with pride til next year, when if all goes well and they make the grade again, they’ll get a new one.
