One of Canada’s most talented runners, Rachel Hannah, celebrates birthday

We look forward to another year of fast times and well-run races for Rachel Hannah

One of Canada’s favourite and most talented runners, Rachel Hannah, is celebrating her birthday today after another jam-packed year.

Hannah, who lives in Toronto but grew up in Barrie, Ont. turns 31 today. She’s one of Canada’s must-watch distance runners and has, for a long time now, been on the radars of major running fans across the country.

The marathon runner ran her first World Marathon Major this year when she travelled to Boston to run the highly-competitive marathon. There, she ran in unseasonably hot weather battling the notorious hills and wound up running a 2:41.22. From there, she said she hoped to participate in more of the World Marathon Major courses.

Sadly, though she has the talent, she had to give the IAAF World Championships a miss this year. She was named to the team but had to fly home from Europe just ahead of the championships once an injury surfaced. Still, last we spoke, Hannah had her chin up with a positive attitude and was setting goals for the future.

We look forward to everything 31 is going to bring to this talented speedster. Here’s to another year of fast times, happy birthday Rachel!
