Prince Harry joins local charity for a run to help promote sport
Prince Harry was spotted running the streets of North London on Thursday alongside local charity volunteers and a group of young homeless people.
Prince Harry was seen running with members of a local charity in North London on Thursday.
Decked out in Asics swag, the 32-year-old ran two kilometres with the Running Charity, a local organization that helps build “resilience, confidence and self-esteem” in young adults who are at risk of homelessness and those who are homeless. Harry ran with a small group which consisted of volunteers and young homeless people.

The BBC reports that Harry received “double-takes from motorists” during his approximately 17-minute run.
“Prince Harry took a 2K run around North London with the Running Charity and young people from the DePaul Hostel to hear about their work supporting young homeless people build confidence and life goals – setting them on the path to a brighter future,” the Kensington Palace wrote in their Instagram post. “The Prince is learning how grassroots community projects are using sport as a way to engage young people and help them get better outcomes in life.”

Harry, before he left the army in 2015, launched the Invictus Games, a global sporting event for wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel, in 2014. Toronto will host the 2017 Invictus Games in September.

Harry’s elder brother, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, has shown interest in possibly doing a marathon in the coming years. “I’ll believe it when I see it,” remarked Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, when asked of William’s marathon aspirations.
