Between the three men, they have seven Olympic and World Championship medals. But what they admitted in a Q and A before their races, is that their diets aren’t as strict as some may think. Willis said, “We eat a lot less healthily than everyone else thinks that we do. (Everyone says) because you’re a professional runner you can’t eat that right now. And I say, no because I am a professional runner, I can eat that. It’s going to be burnt off. I know Matt is a notorious for eating a lot of gummies and candy every day…. We’re not just reserved to being stuck in our hotel room and eating only kale and quinoa.”

Lomong followd up Willis’ comment with, “I’m definitely not healthy with what I eat. Sometimes I eat a lot of pizza. The only thing I won’t eat too much of is ice cream.” He says that ice cream is, “too cold” and that he would eat more of it if it was warmer.

Willis came away with second place in the mile on Sunday, so evidently his diet is working for him.
