Have you ever dreamed of being a professional marathoner? Now, if you’re entered to run Boston or London in 2025, you’ll get the chance.

German running brand Puma has launched a first-of-its-kind global running program called “Project3” that will give participants of the 2025 Boston and London Marathons the chance to experience life as professional athletes, trial new race day products and earn substantial performance-based cash prizes.

Project3 will allow 100 runners participating in each race to prepare for race day just like Puma’s elite athletes. They will have exclusive access to the brand’s most innovative running products, coaches, and elite athletes, all to help them hit their best on race day.

Cash incentives

Wait, but that’s not all! Puma also has multiple cash incentives for each marathoner to earn US$3,000 if they break their existing marathon personal best by three minutes or more. They will reward another $3,000 to the fastest Project3 male and female finishers in Boston and London, as well as to the male and female runners who break their marathon PB by the biggest margin out of all Project3 runners.

If you tick all three boxes, you could earn a potential payout of $9,000. To top it off, Puma will reward the individuals with the biggest PB with an all-expenses-paid trip to a PUMA-sponsored race in 2025 and will kit them out for one year with the brand’s products (valued at up to $5,000).

How can I apply?

If this sounds too good to be true, there’s a catch. Each candidate must meet specific criteria to be considered for selection. All applicants must hold a valid race entry for the 2025 Boston or London Marathon and have a personal best marathon time of 3:10 or faster.

Applications for the Project3 program will be accepted until Jan. 27, 2025. For more information or to apply, visit Puma Project 3.
