Run club fever hits reality TV show The Bachelorette

Several of the contestants on Season 21 of The Bachelorette, including finalist Devin Strader, are hardcore runners

Attention Bachelor Nation: it seems that The Bachelorette Jenn Tran just might have a thing for runners–not one, but two of her top 15 contestants bragged about their local run clubs during their appearances on the show’s 21st season. After making it to the hometowns episode as part of the top four contestants, Bachelorette villain Devin Strader took Tran on a “love run” with the Good Guys Run Club in Houston.

In his bachelor biography, the 28-year-old discussed his passion for running, saying he and his friends took part in a 200-mile relay race. The hometown date may have solidified running dates as the newest thing–Strader took the opportunity to grow his relationship with Tran, and professed his love for her (while drenched in an alarming amount of sweat–how romantic!).

Houston’s Good Guys Run Club raises funds for childhood cancer research, and is undoubtedly growing in popularity after its appearance on the dating show. The group’s Strava page boasts more than 1,000 members.

Canada’s own Tomas Azzano (AKA Tomas A.) may not have seen as much success in finding love on the show, but he still has his love for running. The physiotherapist was eliminated after the third episode of the season, and wasted no time returning to his usual routine as part of Toronto’s QSW Run Crew. Azzano is an active ambassador for the run club, which meets every Monday at 6 p.m. at the Queen Street Lululemon store.

Azzano posted on TikTok after the hometowns episode aired, indicating that Strader stole his idea of a run club hometown date.

If you’re looking for race motivation, Tomas A. has your back. He encourages participation in both the QSW Run Crew and local Toronto races. The 27-year-old recently took part in the Ottawa Half Marathon, where he clocked 1:55:47. He even posts workouts on his Instagram for you to follow .

Strader may still be in the running for an engagement, but Azzano is still searching for love. Since run clubs seem to be the new dating apps, eligible bachelors and bachelorettes might want to lace up their shoes and head down to their local run club.
