Shalane Flanagan clue stumps contestants on ‘Jeopardy!’

Would you have answered the television game show clue correctly?

After Shalane Flanagan won the 2017 New York City Marathon, she guest appeared on Good Morning America, Live with Kelly and Ryan and a number of other television shows. The latest? Jeopardy!

The 36-year-old who became the first American woman to win the New York City Marathon in 40 years has a cook book entitled Run Fast, Eat Slow, the topic of which was featured on the Dec. 5 airing of the television game show. The clue in the cookbooks category was worth $200.

None of three contestants were able to get the solve the clue, which read “four-time Olympian Shalane Flanagan provides nourishing recipes for athletes in the ‘Run Fast. Eat’ this way.” The correct response, which must be presented in the form of a question, was “what is slow?”

Run Fast. Eat Slow.: Nourishing Recipes for Athletes, authored by Flanagan and Elyse Kopecky, is a New York Times bestseller.
