Smurfs stole the show at the Brussels Diamond League final
Wondering why Papa Smurf was entered in the Diamond League final in Brussels?
Wondering why Papa Smurf was entered in the Diamond League final in Brussels? Belgium is the land of the comic book. Many well-known comics like Tintin and Lucky Luke originate from Belgium. The most famous of the bunch are the Smurf comics.
The Smurfs were a big part of the final, and have been for years in Brussels. They’re there to congratulate all of the runners on their success right when the crossed the line.
The Diamond League final is a busy day for the Smurfs. They were front and centre for awards presentations, post-race congratulations, they were the official high-five committee, and they set the dress code.
Did you know…? | The lovable blue creatures known as 'The Smurfs' were born in Brussels in 1958 by Pierre Culliford. You see them at #BrusselsDL because they have been mascots of this event since 2014. @Diamond_Leaguehttps://t.co/hAyAex59dX pic.twitter.com/lSNT7werXB
