Some of Apple’s new emojis seem running-inspired

Apple has unveiled more than 70 new emoji with its iOS 12.1 update, and runners have noticed that some of them could conceivably have been inspired by running.

For example, there is a leg, a foot, a bagel (though it’s a crummy-looking, mass-produced bagel that’s provoking ire in New Yorkers, and probably in Montrealers as well), a salt shaker, a roll of toilet paper, a bar of soap, a basket of laundry, even a safety pin.

Also: there’s a head of lettuce, a cupcake, and what looks like a bundt cake (it’s actually a traditional Chinese moon cake, which as far as we’re concerned definitely counts as a carb).
