The Internet reacts to the medals for the World Championships
The medals were designed to represent the state of Oregon and surrounding area

The medals for the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Ore., have just been revealed, and the Internet has already roasted them.
According to World Athletics, the medals are inspired by the cross-section of a tree and are complete with seven rings to represent the seven regions of Oregon, with the logo of the 2022 World Championships in the middle. The other side of the medal features marble landscapes and white Art Deco façades of the great public buildings in the U.S., including Oregon’s state capitol. The outer edge of each medal also is textured to feel like tree bark.

A first glance, the medals look like something you’d get from a virtual race or the Lumberjack World Championships, and Twitter agrees.

I don't think the actual finished product meets whatever idea they had in the first place. These just seem kind of blah.
