A 100m race in 9.81 seconds. There’s not too many things you can do in that amount of time. But one man took his marks at the same time as Bolt and was able to solve a Rubik’s Cube faster than Bolt could run 100m in a head-to-head battle.

The Jamaican world record holder won his third consecutive 100m title at the Olympics in Rio on Sunday. The video, posted to Imgur, has more than 342,000 views as of Tuesday afternoon (note that the view count in the embedded video is not updated). The original YouTube video has an additional 25,000 views. That’s a lot of running and Rubik’s Cube fans.

You can tell Anthony Brooks is serious about Rubik’s Cubes as there is an assortment on display on the television stand. Footage of the men’s 100m final is shown on the television as Brooks begins at the same time as the runners in the sprint. Brooks, 22, is an American speed cubing champion.

Canadian Andre De Grasse finished third in the race and took home Canada’s second medal in track and field. Brianne Theisen-Eaton won Canada’s first athletics medal with a bronze in the heptathlon.

As can be seen below, it was a tight finish but Brooks was able to pull off the win against Bolt. The feat is also commendable as it must have meant missing the men’s 100m final live and instead focusing on solving the cube.
