The Vancouver Marathon is one of Canada’s most popular races– and for good reason. Based in one of the country’s most beautiful cities, it attracts both local runners and those from across the country.

Ana Weiss made headlines for being the 100,000th runner to cross the finish line since 1972. Her finish was caught on camera in the below post.

Weiss’ finish was one of many plot lines that shook out from the 42.2K race. Olympic race walker Evan Dunfee walked the marathon course to clock a time most runners would be satisfied with. He finished in 3:10.34 as the 114th male finisher.

The Vancouver Marathon started 45 years ago in 1972. It’s famous for bringing runners along a picturesque course with views of the beaches and along the Seawall.

About 3,654 participated in this year’s marathon. Weiss finished in the middle of the pack running 4:49:17 to place 2,610 for a finish she will always remember.
