How Canadian record-holder Gen Lalonde is getting ready for world cross-country

Gen Lalonde is one of Canada’s best distance runners. The University of Guelph alumna is the Canadian 3,000m steeplechase record-holder, and she is gearing up for the World Cross-Country Championships in Denmark on March 30.

Canadian Running caught up with Lalonde before she left for Denmark to see what a day in the life of a Canadian record-holder looks like, and how you get ready to take on some of the world’s best distance runners. Lalonde trains in Guelph with Canadian indoor 1,000m and 800m record-holder Jenna Westaway, as well as world cross-country teammate Kate Ayers
