Watch Sandi Morris and Noah Lyles sing a song in advance of the upcoming Diamond League finals

Sandi Morris and Noah Lyles recorded a song with the Swiss band Baba Shrimps in advance of the Diamond League finals in two months’ time. The Zurich meet organizers arranged for the two to record the song before the final on August 29.

Morris told the IAAF, “It’s honestly a dream come true. It is another life path that, maybe, if athletics hadn’t happened, I would have pursued. I am very excited and honoured that I was chosen. It’s just really cool to be part of this project.” The song, ‘Souvenir’, is based on the idea of cherishing memories like valuable keepsakes.

Both Lyles and Morris are having great seasons. Lyles is coming off of a huge 200m run just days ago at the Lausanne Diamond League, where he broke Usain Bolt’s meet record and ran a huge personal best of 19.50. His time on Friday was the fastest 200m mark in nearly eight years. He’s set to race the 100m against fellow American Justin Gatlin at the Monaco Diamond League, who’s got the fastest personal best in the field at 9.74.

Morris is currently ranked third in the world for the women’s pole vault and is an Olympic and World Championship medallist.
