One of the best ultrarunners competing, Sweden’s Emelie Forsberg, repeated as winner of 50K Skyrunning event The Rut, after also racing the event’s vertical kilometre and 25K races the two previous days.

On Friday, Forsberg raced the vertical kilometre in Big Sky, Mont., finishing fourth. Saturday she finished fifth in the 15K distance. Sunday, finishing off the weekend, she won the 50K headline event, defending her 2014 title in a course record of 6:25:44.

Hillary Allen and Martina Valmassoi finished second and third, respectively.

Italy’s Franco Collè won the men’s race in 5:16:58.

Cristofer Clemente and Matt Shryock rounded out the men’s podium positions.

Both Forsberg and Collè sit at the top of the Skyrunner provisional rankings with 400 and 3010 points. The Skyrunner finals are scheduled for Sept. 19 in Ultra Pirineu, Spain.
