British trail runner Jasmin Paris, who won the 429K Montane Spine Race outright earlier this month, knocking 12 hours off the men’s course record, has been selected to represent Great Britain at the ITU/ITRA Trail World Championships in Mirandha do Corvo, Portugal on June 8.

The UK magazine Fast Running reports that the team also includes Charlotte Morgan, the reigning World Long Distance Mountain Running champion, and Holly Page, who was the most successful British runner at last year’s world championships in Penyagolosa, Spain.

Jonathan Albon, who won the Ultra division of the Skyrunning World Championship in 2018 and finished fourth at last year’s Trail World Championships, was also named to the team.

The race will be a relatively short 50K this year, but with 2,500m of elevation gain.

Canada is expected to announce the first members of its team in the next few days.
