Photos from the finish line of the 2017 Barkley Marathons including the scene of the crushing six-second miss for Gary Robbins on the 60-hour time limit.

The 2017 Barkley Marathons concluded on Monday afternoon as John Kelly became the race’s 15th finisher since the Tennessee ultramarathon first began in 1986. Meanwhile, Gary Robbins, who was vying to become the first Canadian to complete the more than 100-mile (160K) race, came in six seconds after the 60-hour mark. He went off course near the end of the race and reached the yellow gate from the opposite direction.
Canadian Running was at the yellow gate, which marks the start/finish of the race and captured some memorable moments, all of which can be seen in the above gallery. Miss the ending? See Canadian Running‘s full recap from the event here with more details of Robbins’ race here.
