St. John’s, Newfoundland’s most popular running trails
In the third instalment of our series we bring you some popular Strava segments from the Rock

This week we take you to St. John’s, Nfld., a great place for some rugged trail running and plenty of extremes in weather, if you’re up for it.
We start at Signal Hill, where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal in 1901. The road up to this former military citadel is long and steep, but rewards runners with spectacular views of the city and the ocean. On the backside, a trail with unmatchable scenery leads back to the city.

We continue with a route that takes you from Quidi Vidi Lake to Windsor Lake.
And finally, the Blackhead Path Climb is just one example of the amazing terrain along the East Coast Trail, a 540K trail started in 1994 with options at every level of difficulty.
