Kitzbuhel is a small medieval town located in the Austrian Alps, and a major destination for alpine skiing. Kitzbuhel is an important stop on the World Cup alpine skiing circuit and one of the most revered downhill courses in the world. The course includes an insane gradient of 80% and several blind drops.

This October, for the first time ever, runners will get to attempt the descent on foot instead of on skis. The Invo-8 Descent will take place at Hahnenkamm mountain, on the same course as the famous downhill ski race. It’s a race to the bottom, releasing runners in 30 second intervals to tackle the trip downhill. Ski gates will guide the way for runners, who will weave their way down the 350m slope. The fastest 30 runners in the men’s and women’s categories will qualify for the final run. The fastest man and woman of the final will be crowned the downhill champion.
