The North Face Endurance Challenge series wrapped up for 2017 with its championship race on Saturday and Sunday.

The North Face Championships in Golden Gate National Recreational Area within California’s Bay Area features a 50-miler, 50K and marathon on the Saturday and shorter distances on the Sunday. Canadian Sarah Bergeron-Larouche won the 50K in 4:55:23, two minutes ahead of Megan Farrell as the top-four women were separated by just two minutes over the ultra distance.

“California was a blast!” she wrote on Instagram. “I pushed my limits and I am really happy with the result. I wasn’t expecting to take the top spot until the last 10K.”

Bergeron-Larouche was coming off a victory at the Bromont 55K, according to Ultra Signup, in October before racing in California.
