It’s possible to be an avid trail and mountain runner, while also having a life and a family. The fifth annual North Face Valley to Peak trail race is happening August 31 in Whistler Blackcomb, BC. The event includes a 1K kids run, and 3K, 10K, and 23K distances. All distances will be a guaranteed challenge for even the most talented trail runner. The 23K distance climbs from the resort valley to the top of Whistler Mountain, testing runners’ strength, speed, and endurance all at once.
Skiing from the peak to the valley is often the trend when visiting Whistler Blackcomb mountain resort. However, the trails on the mountains are also an alpine runner’s dream. Even if you’re not racing, Whistler offers endless activities for people of all ages.
Mountain runners should prepare for challenging terrain on stunning singletrack. The 3K race has 110 metres of elevation gain, the 10K race has 470 metres, and the 23K has 1,760 metres, including a descent back down the mountain.
