Blue Nose Marathon

Last weekend it was the Scotiabank Fredericton Marathon. This weekend it was the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon as Atlantic Canada has been a busy spot for runners in May.

Capped off with Sunday’s marathon, thousands of runners were in Halifax and there was no shortage of highlights at the popular Maritimes race. More than 10,000 people participated in the youth run, 5K, 10K, half-marathon marathon relay or marathon spanning Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday was particularly memorable for one couple in the half-marathon. At the finish line, Dartmouth, N.S.’s Aaron Thibault proposed to his girlfriend Amanda Leblanc. The Blue Nose Marathon perfectly captured the moment in the finish line chute. There was also a race proposal on Saturday, according to race organizers.
