How to follow the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships
All the information you need, in one place, for the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa
The Canadian Track and Field Championships are underway and continue through until Sunday in Ottawa.
Nationals, which serve as a means of qualifying for the 2017 IAAF World Championships, are being held at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility at Mooney’s Bay. The distance finals begin on Thursday and include the 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase. Notable events on Friday include Andre De Grasse in the 100m as the triple Olympic medallist also is set to run the 200m on Sunday.
Watch for Melissa Bishop, the defending silver medallist over 800m at the world championships, in the women’s 800m final on Saturday afternoon. Canadian Running will be live on location starting on Thursday and will be bringing you coverage from the races, including live video, archived race footage, post-race interviews and photos.
The top-two athletes with standard in track events earn automatic spots to the Canadian team for the IAAF World Championships. A third spot may be awarded at the discretion of Athletics Canada, the nation’s governing body.
