Arguably the greatest runner in history will be in the field for the 2017 Dubai Marathon.

The live feed, which can be found at the top of this page courtesy of EverSport.TV, will begin at 9:20 p.m. EDT/6:20 p.m. PDT on Thursday. Kenenisa Bekele, the second-fastest marathon runner on a record-legal course in history, headlines the field. He’s the 5,000m and 10,000m world record holder and ran 2:03:03 at the 2016 Berlin Marathon, six seconds off the world record. He has stated that he will be going for the world record in Dubai.

The United Arab Emirates race will be Bekele’s sixth career marathon.

Bekele, a three-time Olympic champion, or any other runner, will earn a US$250,000 bonus if a new world record is set. That’s on top of the US$200,000 first-place prize in what is the largest purse in the road running world.

The previous two men’s champions are in the field for Thursday’s race. (Friday morning in the United Arab Emirates). See the women’s elite field here and the men’s elite field here.

Bekele, 34, is expected to also run the 2017 London Marathon in April, which recently announced its women’s and men’s elite fields. Krista DuChene is the lone Canadian in the London Marathon elite field.
