Bairu opens season with win at Chicago’s Shamrock Shuffle

Bairu cruises to 23:38 win at Chicago's Shamrock Shuffle 8K.

Canadian record holder Simon Bairu opened up his summer racing season with a low key race at Chicago’s Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle on April 10. Bairu led from gun to tape as he cruised to a 23:38 win over the 8K course. “Bigger and better things to come this season!” Simon promised via twitter.

American high school phenom Lucas Verzbicas finished second, 17 seconds back from Bairu.
