A father-daughter duo from California have run 100 marathons together in 38 states, and are working their way to run marathons in all 50 states.

Harold Jackson, 66, and Sally Boles, 43, are heading to Kentucky in April to run the Kentucky Derby marathon, and will add Delaware in May, New Jersey in October, Indiana in November and Tennessee in December to their list.

According to an article in the Orange County Register, Jackson got into running in high school, and has since run with each of his four children and other family members. Boles started running as a child, and in 1976, ran a 5K with her father.

Boles and Jackson have run marathons throughout the country, although mostly in California. They ran their 100th marathon together in California in January.

Calling his daughter his inspiration, Jackson told the Register, “Without her exuberant promotion of another marathon that we can do together, I would never have done so many. When we are in another state, she slows down and stays with me the entire marathon. She is great company, not only during the marathon but also the entire trip.”
