Halifax’s Sole Sisters 5K sells out

The popular women's race fills up its 2,500 spots five months in advance of race day.

The second annual Sole Sisters 5K has sold out five months in advance of the race.

The popular Halifax women’s race filled up the last few of the remaining 2,500 spots on Monday. United By Running, the organizers, increased registration from 1,500 in 2012 due to overwhelming demand. Within 48 hours of the end of last year’s race the organizers reported that they already had signed up several hundred runners for 2013.

United By Running also organizes the highly popular Maritime Race Weekend and Lucky 7 Relay. Both events were sell-outs last year and the organizers expect the same for 2013.
