John Lofranco, a blogger with Canadian Running and McGill Olympic Club coach, has been announced as the new Athletics Canada (AC) road running coordinator.

One of Lofranco’s roles will be to strengthen the relationship between AC and Canada’s road running community and will head the inaugural National Race Directors Summit at the 2014 Toronto Waterfront Marathon. He will also work to make Canadian road racing events more enjoyable for all participants, part of AC’s plan to engage all of the road running community for the coming years.

“The atmosphere at Athletics Canada is very positive and energetic,” said Lofranco. “I am excited at the opportunity to work with the team, and of course, all the top notch people across the country who make road running happen: race organizers, sponsors, retailers and, of course, the runners.”

Lofranco blogs about training at racing for runners ranging from beginners up to elites on Canadian Running.
